ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL- AUSTRALIA 2024
I still recall racing to the airport 25 years ago to retrieve the 35mm print of the festival’s Opening Night film, Silvio Sodini’s enchanting Bread and Tulips. Whilst a lot has changed since then, our passion for sharing contemporary Italian cinema has only grown. From humble beginnings, this festival is now the largest celebration of Italian cinema in the world (outside of Italy) thanks to you, our wonderful audience, and our valued sponsors. Grazie mille!
We’re thrilled to welcome Margherita Vicario for her directorial debut of Opening Night film Gloria! She will be attending the Sydney and Melbourne Opening Night Gala events and Q&A sessions, in amongst her busy concert schedule in Italy!
We invite you to immerse yourself in the magic of Italian cinema at the 2024 ST. ALi Italian Film Festival and live ‘la dolce vita’. Ci vediamo!
- FESTIVAL DIRECTOR, Elysia Zeccola
It is a great pleasure for the Embassy of Italy to be able to collaborate once again with Palace Cinemas.
Italy has a longstanding tradition of quality cinema, with its film production fully supported by the Italian Institutions as a key element of the 'Made in Italy' promotional strategy.
This annual event will provide the public with the opportunity to experience Italian culture through the medium of film. It may be a trip through contemporary Italy or a historical journey. In either case, the audience will have the opportunity to experience the rich culture, lengthy history and significant contributions that Italy has made to modern society.
I would like to thank Elysia Zeccola for promoting Italian cinema in Australia and wish the ST. ALi Italian Film Festival a successful 2024 edition.
